Korea and Libya
Al Wasat reported that South Korea was the main source of Libya's used cars in 2019, with about 59,000 vehicles — around 55% of Korea's used car exports that year.
Age limits
- A Ministry of Economy law reported in 2012 banned vehicles made in 2007 or earlier.
- Later, the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord barred citizens from importing cars older than five years; the Administrative Control Authority said this was not enforced in practice (Al Wasat).
Because the situation is unclear, we recommend newer cars and written confirmation from your agent before you pay.
